Poking around the internets garnered me a few ideas for what I might focus on for 2012. So far it seems that everything revolves around me being super motivated and highly disciplined, which suggests I might just be setting myself up for failure. However!!!! Despite possibly embarrassing myself by revealing to everyone my total and complete lack of willpower, here’s what I’ve got going on:
One big ass list:

Jeff knows I like to make lists, so he bought me this awesome notebook that is perfect for it. I already have 2.5 pages filled up and just today crossed off the third item. Take that!! Bring it on!!!! I plan on ticking off one-ish per week so, even with additions, I should be able to get it all done before December. Notice #14 is actually something fun.
My other resolution (well, besides “not interrupting people,” which is on my list every year) is to buy nothing new. Plenty of people have done this in recent years, so it’s not like I’m breaking any new ground, but I think this will kill a number of very different birds with one stone. First, I don’t need anything, despite how much I think I might. Second, I would rather be putting that money somewhere else (travel, paying off debt, saving for *gasp* retirement). Third, this planet does not need any more stuff on it and sticking to second hand will lighten the environmental load. I’m giving myself some leeway, since I can’t always find what Henry needs used and there’s no getting around buying stuff like new wiper blades for the car, but for my own personal needs, it’s consignment city.
I don’t expect this to be easy; I was already pretty bummed when I realized I wouldn’t be able to join the feeding frenzy over the Jason Wu/Target collaboration (those dresses are cute) and I still find myself visiting my favorite online shoe stores nearly every day. Wish me luck and I’ll keep you posted.
